Lace Up Your Shoes and Run or Walk 5km  

Become a Child’s Champion! 

Join Kelowna-based Haiti in My Heart become a Child’s Champion, ensuring a child in Haiti is able to advance each year in their schooling. 

Simply register to complete a 5km run or walk, either with us on June 22 2025 in Kelowna BC, or virtually in your own city between June 8 – June 22. All funds raised ensures children in Haiti have access to education [at our school Institute Mixte Remax]. 

Amplify your participation and impact by creating your own fundraising page and we’ll match you with a student at our school. You’ll earn award badges marking your progress towards providing for your student’s educational needs. 

[Our Chair, Louise, is celebrating her 55th birthday this August!  As a long-time recreational runner, Louise is committing to running 55kms on June 22nd – 55kms for 55 specific students at the school who do not yet have a Champion.]  

The 5km course is a closed, flat loop route, beginning and ending at “hidden-gem” Strathcona Beach Park.   Participants will run or walk a 5km loop through Kelowna’s charming and historic Abbott St. Heritage corridor.   Finishers receive a “Swag Bag” of treats and delights, finisher’s line ice cream, and commemorative made-in-Haiti spoon.   

At the finish, we’ll be there to greet you!  You’ll get your swag bag of treats and delights, including an artisan Haitian-made spoon … to eat your finish-line ICE CREAM provided by Parlour Ice Cream and made with authentic Haitian vanilla! 

Stay to enjoy and re-fuel with Reggae Fusionfood who will be onsite providing their delicious Jamaican style infused dishes. Vegan and vegetarian options available.
